Therapy for Individuals
Centering Multicultural, BIPOC, South Asian, AAPI Adults
South Asian Therapist in Oakland, San Francisco, & across California
For the parts of you that have been holding it together alone.
I offer relational, depth-oriented, and culturally responsive individual therapy for adults and teens navigating the complexity of life at the intersections of multiple identities. Many of my clients are South Asian, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, first-generation, or multicultural folx who present as high-functioning on the outside while carrying something much heavier underneath. Drawing on a liberation and decolonial lens, somatic work, and a parts-based framework, we go beneath the surface to address root causes, not just symptoms.
This is a space where all of you is welcome — your history, your culture, your body, and the parts you've learned to keep quiet.
Does this sound like you?
You hold it together for everyone else and have very little left for yourself
You've achieved what you were supposed to and still feel like something essential is missing
The roles you play — dutiful child, high performer, the capable one — feel like armor more than identity
You carry anxiety, heaviness, or a flatness you can't quite explain
Your history shows up in your present in ways you recognize but can't seem to shift
You're navigating identities your family or community doesn't fully have language for
You've tried talking about it before and felt like something important wasn't getting through
How I help:
My approach is relational, somatic, and parts-based — informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic theory, and a liberation and decolonial lens. I'm direct, warm, and genuinely curious, and I'll gently challenge you toward growth while meeting you exactly where you are.
In our work together, we might:
Get curious about the parts of you that are exhausted, anxious, or performing — understanding what they're protecting and what they need
Trace the roots of your patterns — how your history, your family system, and the cultural and systemic forces around you show up in the present
Develop your mind-body connection — learning to notice what's happening in your body before it becomes a crisis
Move from reacting to your patterns to making conscious choices about them
Rebuild self-trust and confidence outside of achievement, approval, and getting it right
Understand how your cultural identity, intergenerational history, and the roles assigned to you have shaped who you've become
Process grief — for relationships, versions of yourself, cultures, or possibilities that didn't make it
Explore identity at every level — who you are in the world and who you are as a being
Find out what flow actually feels like for you — not the version that looks good from the outside, but the one that feels true from the inside
This work is not about fixing you. It's about understanding yourself deeply enough that you can finally stop working so hard against yourself.

Sessions are typically 50-min with extended 75-minute sessions for those that prefer longer sessions.
In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. I’ll gather some background information, learn what brings you in, and understand your goals. As we continue, we’ll co-create a style and rhythm that fits you.
A typical session begins with a brief check-in, followed by space to explore whatever feels most present for you. We might pick up where we left off, follow something emerging in the moment, or explore a theme you want to understand more deeply. The process isn’t always linear, but it’s always collaborative, and my priority is that you feel supported throughout our work together.

I offer remote sessions via Zoom and in-person sessions in the Adam’s Point neighborhood of Oakland. Additionally, I offer hybrid options for folks who travel or have accommodation needs.

Evidence suggests that weekly therapy sessions are the most beneficial. Meeting weekly helps build consistency, trust, and momentum in the work. We’ll reserve a standing day and time for you. This regular rhythm supports deeper exploration and more sustainable growth.
As we move toward completing our work together, we can shift to bi-weekly sessions. My goal is for you to eventually feel grounded, resourced, and able to be your own strongest support. I’m open to occasional rescheduling when life or travel comes up.

Therapy is an on-going practice and process. The timeline looks different for everyone. For some many months, for others, perhaps longer, and for others no timeline in mind. We’ll work together to determine your goals and balance that with any other factors of consideration you might have.
